- Had a recent breakout on your face (eek!)? Try applying some witch hazel to your face – not only can it very effectively help contain breakouts, but sometimes it can even eliminate a breakout entirely. Also along these lines: tea tree oil has been reported as an effective natural oil for treating breakouts. (Note about the witch hazel: if it's got alcohol in the ingredients, make sure you aren't putting it near your eyes!)
- Looking for a natural makeup remover? Grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, and avocado oil are all awesome, natural alternatives to the common store-bought makeup removers (which have a lot of less-than-friendly ingredients in them).
- Have sensitive skin which gets irritated easily? Then it’s particularly a good idea to switch to a completely (or mostly) organic and natural makeup inventory. Cosmetic products made strictly from organic ingredients treat your sensitive skin much gentler than cosmetic products which are filled with caustic, unnatural chemicals.
- Here's an organic face mask idea: get some raw honey, olive oil, and ground oatmeal. Mix these three ingredients together until you arrive at your desired texture (ideally, the texture should be like a paste), and then apply it to your face. It’s easy, healthy – and it's a completely natural way to revitalize your face's skin health.
- Don’t apply your organic facial products with just your fingers! Your fingertips are often much more oily than your face, so using your bare fingers to place beauty products on your face can cause some acne or redness. A better strategy? Try soft linens made from completely natural fibres, pads, or cotton balls.
