I was an aesthetician that got to be one of the testers for this product. I was excited because not only do I have sensitive clients but my own eyes are allergic to regular glues. Anyone I used it on had absolutely no irritation. It does take longer to apply and doesn’t last quite as long, but such a great alternative to the allergic reaction or to having none at all. What a great invention.

I’ll start with the positives: this glue did not irritate my eyes at all, and it dried clear and was undetectable.

The negatives: I had lashes professionally applied by an esthetician with extensive lash extension experience who I know well. She read the instructions and tips concerning how this glue would require longer dry time and would be tackier than the usual professional glue, and it was still difficult for her to apply the lashes and keep them from sticking to each other.

Secondly, they only lasted 5 days, and I took great care to not get any moisture on them for the first 36 hours (I didn’t shower either!), and kept makeup and all skin products away from them the entire time I had them on.

When I did wash my face and the lashes were wet, it seemed as though the glue became “soft” and I had to be extra careful to only blot them dry so only a minimal amount came off. Last night, on day 5, I only had a few groups of lashes left, so I gently removed them and have zero damage to my natural lashes.

Overall, I think this is a reputable company and I look forward to trying the extra strength glue when it’s available, but this product is just not up to the par it’s advertised.

No reaction or irritation!! I was SO SO excited to try this out. But unfortunately, because of the length of time it takes to dry, my lash artist had an awful time trying to get the extensions to stay upright. They kept just sliding around. She tried a few types of lashes and lengths. She did classics and volumes, both of varying lengths and they all seemed to slide around. We tried with a fan, didn’t work either. I have them on now, not sure how long they will last and I haven’t gotten them wet for 48 hours or brushed them. I’ve noticed a few fall out already. Really really sad ☹️ Maybe the extra strength will be better.

I was really looking forward to trying this product. I hope True Glue will take some of the feedback and improve on the product, because it can change the lash extension world.

Since I’ve received the glue, I have used it on over 10 clients who have been unable to get professional lash extensions due to allergic reactions to cyanoacrylate and any of the acrylates in the similar family. The great thing about the glue is that it is completely free of fumes. Of all the clients, none had even slight allergic reactions to it. However, it is probably one of the hardest glues I have worked with in over 5 years. Keep in mind, my workshop is usually at 50-55% humidity and a temp of 68-70 degrees. This has worked for 95% of the glues I’ve worked with.

Here are the issues I’ve experienced with this glue:
… the viscosity changes quickly after you pour it out of the bottle. I have used a pure jade stone, jade stone wrapped with foil, just foil itself, and glue rings. None of which really changes how quickly the glue dries up. I was pouring new drop of glue every 10 minutes.
…. the drying time ( around 6-8 seconds) makes it difficult to work fast. I had to add additional 25-30 minutes for each client doing a full volume set
…. the glue just isn’t tacky enough. it doesn’t grab on to the natural lash very well; therefore, I was having to either hold the lash to the natural lash for 6-8 seconds, or having to wait until the glue gets a bit dry to attach it to the natural lash
… the retention is around 3-5 days. I had a client that went without getting her lashes wet for over 48 hours and 80% of her lashed fell out after 2 showers. Most of the clients didn’t even make it to 4 days.

Like another reviewer had stated, taking off the lashes was simple and did not damage the natural lashes at all.

I had much higher hopes for this adhesive. My skin can’t tolerate the stronger adhesives anymore and I was looking for a solution to be able to wear extensions. After reading about the the product description, it sounded like the answer to my problem. Yes it didn’t make my skin have a reaction. There’s no fumes. It took forever to apply and even longer to dry. I was very careful with avoiding moisture for 2 days. The lashes didn’t last a week. I was hoping for better than a week retention.

  6. Sara (verified owner)

The glue is so close perfect, I had no irritation whatsoever, however it falls short on the retention side. With no moisture contact my lashes lasted less than 48hrs.

  7. Nicole (verified owner)

Doesn’t last more than 3 days- regardless of water. Their original one day lash glue (which is amazing) could probably last just as long. Very disappointed as I was hoping for a great natural lash glue to last at least a week.

So… I have tried many glues since I first had a reaction…each time was worse. So when I found this glue, I thought ok here we go again…crazy…yes I am! I just want lashes so bad haha! So I tried just a few to see if I had a reaction and NOPE nothing . So exciting! Now Theo lay thing is, they don’t last…I’ve made it to a week and when I go for a fill, a lot fall out as my technician fills. So it’s basically a new set every time. I will definitely use this for times when I have an event to go to as they look beautiful! The glue is different and does take longer to dry so my girl does them differently than her regular lash clients. It they look great and I can’t wait to try the extra strong glue when it comes out…literally I am so grateful for this glue, even if they do t last long…..Thank-you! The only reason it’s not a 5* rating is the Lasting power!

I had high hopes for this glue since i can no longer use regular or sensitive lash glue. I had no reaction at all, does take alot longer to dry, I waited well pass the 48 hour dry time to finally wet my lashes, unfortunately they came off as soon as they were wet. Hopefully the extra strength version works way better. I should have listened to the other reviews and saved my $50. Very disappointed i only got one use out of this bottle because its a hassle not to be able to wet them for so long then they come off.

  10. Jolien

While I was hoping this was the miracle adhesive I have been waiting for, it really doesn’t last.. the retention time needs to be improved. I hope there will be a updated version soon!

Causes no irritation and my lash girl had a hard time applying and keeping lashes separate during the process. I let this cure for 72 hours and gently washed my lashes after, as soon as water touched them all my lashes came off. This product is not water resistant, so if you plan on paying for a set of extensions i wouldn’t wet your lashes at all

  12. Kylie (verified owner)

While it does not cause any irritation, it does not last either. Even without getting them wet they only lasted 48 hours. It was so disheartening! I hope they work to improve the retention time because I miss lash extensions so much!

I am a certified lash specialist but allergic to getting lash extensions myself. I’ve always been on the hunt for something that’ll work for me and came across true glue. When I tell you I was jumping for joy, I mean it! I paid for express shipping and I didn’t come on time. It came a week late actually…. good thing I was having a lash friend try it on me and I didn’t have a client scheduled…. I was very upset but just waited patiently. FINALLY… when it got here I texted my friend immediately to get some lashes on me. Taped me up and got ready!!! We were so excited!!!! She went to put her glue dot down, only for it to literally explode everywhere!!! All over the lash pillow, the bed, her… and my hair. She barely squeezed the bottle too. We hurried to clean up the mess because we were still so excited. We weren’t going to let a little hiccup ruin a beautiful set she was about to do. She was able to salvage a little adhesive that was still in the bottle after the explosion. She went to lash…. and they didn’t stay. Not one. They would pot right off. She tried so many methods to where she put the glue (glue dot, glue ring, ext), how she applied it, how much glue. WE TRIED FOREVER!!!! To not get a single lash…. we finally gave up and washed the glue in my hair out. We still have the bottle in the same spot and refuse to touch it. To us, it is cursed. I paid over $70 for nothing. (Including shipping) please so your money guys…. it’s way too good to be true:(

Oh my gosh! I absolutely love this glue! I could even do it myself (not recommended.) My eyes are not red or burning from the fumes. It lasts a few weeks with proper care. I am severely allergic to the normal glue and this is perfect for me. My natural lashes still remained the same after removing the extensions, so it doesn’t harm your natural lashes. Love it so much, I bought another one.

I’m allergic to regular lash glues. I had my lashes done with this the day before my wedding. Lasted for the dress rehearsals, the wedding, then lunches the next day. Great for a weekend or getaway. Its natural so doesn’t have the staying power as regular glue, but a good compromise!
